In Our Stories

This sweet little boy is Jorge. Jorge has Trisomy 18, also known as Edwards syndrome. There is no treatment or cure for children with Edwards Syndrome, and they usually have very short lives. Jorge is now two years old; as Jorge’s mother put it, “Jorge is a miracle baby.”

Last month Jorge became severely dehydrated and because he was no longer tolerating feedings, he was admitted to the hospital. Being a Trisomy baby means the future can often look uncertain, but Jorge is a fighter. And with your support he was able to keep fighting.

During this time Jorge’s mother worried about how they would pay their household bills while Jorge was in the hospital.

The stress of caring for Jorge while he was in the hospital, and trying to keep a roof over their heads and food on their table felt insurmountable. Thank goodness you were there for Jorge and his family; your generosity helped to pay for their monthly bills.

You gave Jorge and his family the support they needed most.

Jorge was able to come home and is now thriving because of your generosity! Thank you for being their angel when they needed you most.
